KATONAH WOODS

KITCHEN & BAR

How do we build a restaurants brand from scratch and position it to instantly make an emotional connection that will strengthen the loyalty, conviction, and advocacy of it’s close-knit community?

When Red Ski Creative was approached by an established Manhattan-based restaurant group to create  a comprehensive brand for a new eatery in Northern Westchester, we were secretly fist pumping. That’s because we’re passionate about restaurant branding, and this project screamed Holy Grail. The mission: to build a completely new brand from the ground up, starting with the concept, to naming the establishment, it’s brand identity, interior design, signage and restaurant collateral.

Ever the intrepid design explorers, we took a deep dive, researching and devising a strong visual and emotional identity shaped by a local historic event of 1880, known as the “Big Move of Katonah”.  This uplifting story (literally!) inspired us to craft a sophisticated yet rustic design motif for Katonah Woods Kitchen & Bar that pays homage to this leafy community renowned for its picturesque landscape of tall pines, country road, old stone walls, and pristine reservoirs.

We identified key moments of the consumer’s experience, creating a chic country vibe that starts at the façade and is carried out through the interior.  We drilled down on every detail, including furnishings, lighting fixtures, hand-painted signs and brick, menu design, business cards, servers’ outfits, signature drinks, etc., to create a uniquely memorable dining experience. You name it, Red Ski Creative nailed it.
